I have no clue how this happened but despite me fighting it all the way, Twilight has gotten under my skin and decided to live there. Bastard! (I know avamclean
is disappointed in me *hangs head* ;))
But anyways, here's my very first piece of art relating to the fandom known as Twilight. The piece is named "How Did We Get Here?" and centers on New Moon and the scene in the parking lot where Bella is leaning against her car, seeing the memory of Edward walking towards her. I used stock of ice that looks a lot like water as a reflection of her cliff-dive later on. And you might notice and recognize, I used the lyrics of Paramore's "Decode", which isn't a surprise since the entire song inspired this piece. I feel it very fitting for New Moon, especially the chorus and bridge, which is featured in this piece. I also decided to go with the font that we see is Bella's handwriting, just to underline which POV the piece is and to get closer to the character.

As you might notice, the signature looks a bit different than it usually does. I've been wanting to change it for some time, it's been about 5 years since it got a makeover, so I thought now would be a good time. I've noticed a lot of other artists putting the date of creation in their signature and I liked that feature so I adapted it to my own :)
Since New Moon has turned into my favorite book of the four it's no surprise that it's the first piece for me. It's just a surprise that I made one at all! ;) But I think this is a very good thing. I need to find my way back to canon work. I love working with fanfic pieces, it's what's been driving me to not give up on art completely over the last two years, and especially in the last year. So a very big thanks goes out to the authors of Buffy and Dean who's been a never ending inspiration *hugs my girls* (and this doesn't mean I'll stop working on the OTP!)entry will stay public for one week
